    Pre-event Training Benefits:

  • Preparation webinars and clinics.

  • Specialist open-water coaching and advice monthly contact pre-event, a Zoom/WhatstApp video call. A personalised programme if needed. Anything you need in the lead up to the event to be fully prepared. This could even include injury prevention or handling of a known injury and so on. Dry-land training and expert advice from top world-class coaches and physios. This will lead to adapting our training plan for you, to match your goals for training and your participation in the event.

  • Video evaluation based on a video of your swimming in a pool. Our coach will advise what type of swims are best suited for you to do and record in your pool.

  • Complementary initial video consultation with our expert sports injury/physiologist with follow up as required prior to the event. This is a great opportunity to go over any issues at all so the physio can offer a plan of action to ensure you make the start line in great shape. During the event itself you will be able to schedule a complementary initial consultation and if required or recommended additional time.

    Gary Brickley - Coach, United Kingdom

    Gary Brickley (based in the UK) is a waterman. After 9 years in the Royal Navy playing water polo around the world, Gary went on to become an exercise physiologist with a PhD in endurance exercise and muscle metabolism. Publishing work in areas such as swimming, SUP, cycling, football and  cardiology. He is a senior lecturer who also coaches swimming both open water and pool based, for swimmers and triathletes, helping channel aspirants along the way. He has also coached Paralympic cyclists to over 15 gold medals at 6 Games. He has done numerous long distance swims; English Channel, Lake Zurich, Rottnest, etc as well as 33.3 #1. Gary has been a part of the 33.3 family from the start and helps with coaching, nutrition and training advice.

    Jay Prchal - Coach and Wellness, Australia

    Jay is an Australian competitive pool and open water swimmer with. In 2022 Jay competed in the Australian Masters Games medalling in every event and during the 2022/2023 Australian Open Water Series at age 47, Jay was selected into the Elite Division alongside some of Australia’s best swimmers. More recently he played a pivotal role providing support and mentoring to Andy Donaldson on his World Record breaking Oceans 7 adventure. Today he is a Holistic Coach specialising in Personal Perspective and Emotional Wellbeing. He devotes his time to helping others, sharing insights and strategies for people to live an inspired life, and awakening new levels of awareness.

    Tom Jenkinson - Coach,Sweden

    British by birth but lived in Stockholm, Sweden for the past 27 years. Tom runs the Masters Section at Bromma Swim Club and is the lead for the Open Water Swim section at Envol Coaching. Passionate about swimrun and distance swimming. Hates cold water but managed a Gold medal at the Swedish Winter Swimming Championships!

    Neil MaClean-Martin - Sports Physio, France

    Neil has worked for more than twenty years in the world of elite sport and is a clinical specialist in Musculoskeletal sports injuries. Starting with undergraduate studies in Sports Science before going on to a Masters in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Science, provided a solid start to his career.  He has worked in hospitals, private clinics and has travelled with teams on world cup circuits. Neil continues to work on a consultancy basis for many sporting organisations and is still highly involved with international sport. Based in Chamonix, France.
