Meet the UltraSwim 33.3 Ambassadors
Our Global Ambassadors attend the UltraSwim 33.3 events and act as support for the swimmers onsite, as well as offering advice and support in the run-up to each event via the Webinars and WhatsApp chat groups.
ANDY DONALDSON
Many of you will know Andy already through his remarkable accomplishments in swimming, most recently becoming World Record Holder for the Oceans 7.
More importantly, some of you will know Andy on a personal level from meeting him at our events in Montenegro and Croatia.
We heard someone at our event refer to him as ‘the nicest guy in swimming’ !
ANNA - KARIN LUNDIN
Anna Karin is a former Swedish olympian. She is now a swim coach specialising in improving technique and performance in the pool and open water. She shares expert guidance and training with a large international audience online.
Anna - Karin swam with us at #10Montenegro and she will be running the prep camp in #16Montenegro
PETER PLAVEC
Peter is a world-class open water swimmer from Slovakia. He is known particularly for his record breaking ice swims. He has participated in ice swims, ultra-marathon swims and even hot swims such as Lake Malawi!
“In my eyes, every open water swimmer should try an event like UltraSwim 33.3 because it really is something special.”
Peter will be joining us for #12Croatia
MARIEKE BLOMME
Marieke is a swim smooth certified coach from Belgium. Marieke is best known for swimming the Belgium coastline in 2021, a 67km swim in a record breaking time of 18h45min.
She swam with us for #5Montenegro and joined us for #9Greece and will be joining us again for #12Croatia!
JENNIFER DUTTON
Jen is an open water swimming coach from Massachusetts. She is best known for her crossing of Lake Constance (66km) and Lake Geneva (70km). Jen’s story is quite incredible, she survived a serious brain injury. Read more below!
She will be swimming the ULTIMATE 33.3 in #12Croatia
SUSIE MOONAN
Susie is a behavioural scientist specialising in sports psychology. She is an open water swimmer and champion swimrunner from Sweden.
Before starting her career in swimrunning she was on the Swedish swim team, competing in the European Championships
Susie will be joining us for #14Switzerland
TOM JENKINSON
Tom is an open water swim coach based in Sweden.
Tom’s technical knowledge is extensive and he has even designed free a UltraSwim 33.3 training programme that you can find on his website here
Tom swam has finished 3 UltraSwim 33.3 events, #2Montenegro, #5Montenegro and #9Greece. He will be joining us for #14Switzerland
SOPHIE ETHERIDGE
3x world record holder, Sophie is an coach and advocate for inclusion in swimming. Her English Channel swim in 2023 broke three world records.
Sophie had an accident in 2011 that left her with complex regional pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. She is a wheelchair user and she is determined to show people that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
She has swam #5Montenegro and #10Montenegro and will be swimming with us at #14Switzerland.
SAMIR BAREL
Samir is an open water swim coach from Sao Paulo, Brazil. As the first Brazilian to complete the triple crown of open water swimming, he has extensive knowledge on swimming in difficult conditions.
Samir swam #9Greece, bringing the classic Brazilian energy to the events! He will be swimming #12Croatia and #15Greece
HEATHER SCHELHASE
Heather is a South African coach based in Uxbridge, UK. She has a swim programme called Pool2Lake and helps people make the leap from pool swimming to open water swimming.
Having swum and volunteered at UltraSwim 33.3 she has a deep understanding of how our events work. She will be joining us for #15Greece
PAUL NEWSOME
Paul Newsome is the founder and head coach of Swim Smooth. He’s an accomplished open-water swimmer and internationally respected swim coach.
He has been with us from the very beginning having swam #1Montenegro and #2Montenegro and will be swimming #15Greece
SEAMUS BENNETT
Seamus is one of the 12 certified swim smooth coaches in the UK. He is based in Felixstowe, Suffolk. With a background in sports science, he offers coaching in the pool, open water and on video!
Seamus has swam the ice mile and the English Channel relay, he will be swimming with us for #16Montenegro.
FAY EDGAR
Fay founded Jurassic Coast Swimming after a charity swim of 75km over 4 days.
She has swum four UltraSwim 33.3 events and will be returning for #16Montenegro. She is offering a pre event training camp in the UK in April, check it out here
MELANIE BARRETT
Melanie Barrett is a blind, long distance swimmer and UltraSwim33.3 ambassador. She is the first blind person to swim the English Channel and two time Paralympic champion.
She swam with UltraSwim 33.3 in #10Montenegro and will be returning for #16Montenegro.
BROOKE BENNETT
Brooke won Olympic gold in the 800 m freestyle at age 16 in Atlanta (1996), and at the Sydney Olympics (2000) she won gold in both the 800 m and 400m freestyle. With three individual Olympic gold medals, she ranks among the top women swimmers of all time
She will be swimming with us in #16Montenegro
