Our structured training plans are built around the specific demands of multi day open water endurance swimming. Whether you are starting from a base of regular pool swimming or returning to training after time out, your plan adapts to your starting point and builds progressively towards race week.
TRAINING PLANS

The UltraSwim 33.3 preparation programme is structured across 16 weeks with three distinct phases: base building, specific endurance, and race sharpening. Each week combines pool sessions for technique refinement with open water exposure as your event date approaches.
Weeks 1 to 6: aerobic base and technique focus, 3 to 4 sessions per week. Weeks 7 to 12: open water endurance blocks, building to 5 to 7km sessions. Weeks 13 to 15: race simulation and multi day acclimatisation. Week 16: taper, mental prep and pre race routine consolidation.

Distance alone will not get you to the finish. Our plans integrate recovery protocols, nutrition timing and mental conditioning alongside swim volume. You will understand how to pace across four consecutive stages and manage the cumulative fatigue that defines multi day racing.
Session guidance for pool and open water environments. Integrated rest and recovery scheduling. Nutrition timing woven into training weeks. Mental preparation checkpoints at key plan milestones.
Once you sign up for an event, you'll have access to our Swimmers Bubble, while you'll find our free Traiing Plan as well as more sophisticated personalised options from our Affiliated coaches (for example the Swim Smooth guru promote a dedicated 33.3 plan at a discounted price).
