Swimmers in warm open water at an UltraSwim 33.3 event in Greece

How UltraSwim 33.3 LEAVES A POSITIVE LEGACY - ON swimmers, LOCAL COMMUNITIES and the ocean

UltraSwim 33.3 was built to do more than deliver a race. Every edition creates ripples in the lives of swimmers who cross the finish line, in the communities that host our events, and in the waters we are duty bound to protect. We believe in making a positive impact wherever we go.

As a new format of event in the world of open water swimming, we have the opportunity with UltraSwim 33.3 to get things right. We know nobody is perfect (event or person!) and that’s not what impact is about. Impact is about doing what you can with the resources and knowledge you have, it’s about being mindful of your surroundings and contributing in small but important and consistent ways.

Our Impact

What impact does UltraSwim 33.3 have on the swimmers who take part

When you cross the finish line at UltraSwim 33.3, something has shifted. Not just your fitness but your relationship with what you thought was possible. Swimmers aged 14 to 76, from all over the world, arrive as individuals and leave as 33.3'ers. They go home with friendships forged in open water, a confidence that spreads into every corner of their lives, and a belief in what the human body and mind can achieve when committed to something truly difficult.

4.9 star rated by over 600 verified swimmer reviews. Median swimmer age of 50+. Life changing for some. A lot of swimmers come alone, but none go home without friends.

More Than Just Tourists

Our events generate meaningful income for hotels, restaurants, guides, kayakers and boat skippers, in every host destination. We are guests who contribute, not visitors who just pass through.

Giving Back to the Water

UltraSwim 33.3 is Ocean Positive certified. We measure our entire event footprint and compensate through Sea Trees accredited ocean sequestration projects. We leave it better than we found it.

We Swim in It. We Protect It.

The ocean is not a backdrop to our events, it is the reason we are here. UltraSwim 33.3 is Ocean Positive certified. We have measured every aspect of our event footprint, try to reduce that footprint in every way we can and compensate what we cannot yet reduce through Sea Trees accredited ocean sequestration projects. We don't claim to be perfect but we do our best to make a positive impact on our host venues, participants and the natural environment that we are so lucky to swim in.

Ocean Positive certified across all UltraSwim 33.3 editions. Sea Trees accredited ocean sequestration programme. Reducing our event footprint edition by edition.

Our Sustainability Commitment.
