Swimming With Purpose
Léman hope
The First UltraSwim 33.3 Charity
Léman hope is a Swiss based charity which focuses on bringing children back to normal life after living through cancer. When you think of cancer, you don’t think of children and for a young person, they spend crucial childhood years suffering and recovering through treatments that most adults couldn’t dream of experiencing. Léman hope tries to bring back some normality into these children’s lives through sailing and adventure. The children can go in a group on a four day sailing trip across Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) with an experienced skipper, a lot of whom also suffered from cancer at a young age, giving them their freedom and independence back with people who they can connect with on a deep level. Sailing gives children the chance to rebuild their lives, offering hope and taste for an exciting future through sport and nature.
“ My best moment was when we heeled over. I loved the feeling of flying above the water. I felt free! I tried new things I didn’t think I could do, and it helped me gain more confidence, like the I was steering or helping with manoeuvres.” - Isabelle
Léman hope
At our pioneer event in Switzerland, 2025, 23 swimmers swam for Léman hope and raised over CHF 6000. The swimmers took part in the first UltraSwim 33.3 event with a charitable cause at heart. The swimmers also got to swim the iconic Lausanne to Evian crossing, the only UltraSwim33.3 event to swim across a national border.
“It’s like a big family, its something everyone should do once in their lifetime” - Omar, Morocco - three time UltraSwim 33.3 participant.
Our objective for 2026 is to partner all our UltraSwim 33.3 events with charity local to our event locations, and with our next event #12Croatia only 5 months away, we need your help choosing. We are welcoming all ideas for charities based in Croatia, Greece or Montenegro. Any suggestions can be emailed to purpose@ultraswim333.com
