UltraSwim 33.3 #4Greece is the newest edition to our Epic Adventure Swim Race Series™. This will be our warmest water location of the series, as the point-to-point race course takes you around the magical island of Skopelos in the Sporades - made famous by the cult film Mamma Mia!
Expect wild and exposed coastline, varied conditions, warm water and the backdrop of the greenest island in Greece.
Find all the information you need below, and get ready to step outside of your comfort zone by taking on the very first UltraSwim 33.3 event in Greece. As a ‘Pioneer’ edition, it will also be a bit more exclusive…
THE VENUE
When you think of Greece, Skopelos is certainly the type of place that comes to mind, with stunning crystal clear waters and secluded coves, this picturesque venue has so much to offer. We’ll be staying at the family-run waterfront Adrina Hotel in the tiny fishing village of Panormos (originally settled in the 8th century BC), in the heart of the Aegean sea as our swimmers prepare to take on UltraSwim 33.3 surrounded by the tranquil beauty of this unique venue.
And of course, whether you love it or not, you’re not going to be able to swim without ABBA’s Mamma Mia theme tune in your head, as we start/finish at a number of the cult film’s set locations.
THE COURSE
This course* is the most remote route in our Epic Adventure Swim Race Series™, with swimming past beaches and through bays that are only accessible by sea - Included in the plan is a channel crossing from the nearby island of Alonissos, and swims on all sides of the island.

SWIMMING CONDITIONS
In mid-September, the water is likely to be quite warm, with water temperatures typically ranging from around 22°C to 25°C - this will be our warmest event yet! Skopelos has wild coastlines both exposed and sheltered from the strong northerly winds and the island's waters can be mirror calm or roughed up by the big north wind that can blow at any time. There is of course always the risk of September storms - be ready for a bit of everything as we aim to circumnavigate as much as possible of this beautiful, undeveloped island. The definition of adventure!
TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS
Fly directly to Skiathos (JSI) from several European cities, with twice-daily 40-minute flights from Athens with SkyExpress - the most likely way in and out for most swimmers. If you haven’t visited the Acropolis, now is the perfect opportunity! Weather permitting, we'll transfer you by water taxi from Skiathos to the picturesque beach of Hotel Adrina. Alternatively, choose the scenic land and ferry route from various ports north of Athens, with exact timetables published in May.
Arrival: Land at Skiathos airport ideally in the early morning or by 15:00 latest on Thursday, September 12th.
Departure: Leaving from Skiathos airport is possible from the 1425 Athens shuttle flight on Monday, September 16th.

The distance of the iconic English Channel spread over a long weekend. This is the ultimate challenge. Push yourself and join the ranks of the 33.3 finishers! By selecting this option you will swim the entire 33.3km distance solo, over 5-7 swims, across 4 days. Any determined open-water swimmer can do this.

Share the distance
This duo relay option is a great introduction to the UltraSwim 33.3 concept. By selecting this option you share the distance with a fellow swimmer, split approximately 22.2km each. Both of you will do the full 5km on the final day. 100 Euro discount per swimmer.DISCOVERY

This option allows you to discover the magic of UltraSwim 33.3 without the pressure. You will swim a short distance each day and get to know our event as you build towards the ultimate 33.3km distance. This is everything taken care, our luxury concierge service
For the ultimate experience, the ULTRA++ package, upgrades everything to a premium level. This all-inclusive package includes everything from partner boats and specialist coaching to luxury hotel accommodations, concierge service and dedicated support.

*Group of 4 = pricing based on four people booking at the same time with at least two swimmers new to UltraSwim 33.3
Single occupancy hotel options: With ULTRA+ you can pay an additional €500 to have your own hotel room (availability limited and this price is included in the ULTRA+ hotel upgrade) and/or book additional nights.
There is a 500€ advanced payment to secure your place, with 30 days to change your mind.
The full amount is payable 6 months prior to the event and in the case of changing circumstances we have a flexible rollover policy should you be unable to participate.
