One sport

The power of a single sport focus

After years of juggling three disciplines, discover what happens when you master just one.

33.3KM | 4 DAYS
In short

Focusing on one sport lets you master it in a way that juggling three cannot. UltraSwim 33.3 gives that focus a clear goal: 33.3km of open water across four days. Many swimmers find deeper progress and satisfaction when all their training points at a single discipline.

Your ultimate swimming challenge awaits

UltraSwim 33.3 is an Epic Adventure Swim Race™ covering 33.3km, the historic English Channel distance, split across five to seven point to point open water swims (we hate laps) over four days in warmer water locations (a half Channel 17km option exists). So far held in Croatia, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, Montenegro and the Caribbean, based at luxury spa hotels, with world class safety cover, premium support, a complete preparation programme and a diverse community that ranges from 14 to 74 years old, usually more women than men. From competitive Masters swimmers, triathletes and swimrunners to leisure and wild swimmers simply aiming to complete the distance. From a required pace of just 2km/h, any determined swimmer can do it. Come in a group or alone, everyone leaves with new friends for life. Award winning, all inclusive packages start from €1,575 CHECK (€750 for our 2 day Compact format)

Overview

Depth over breadth

Triathlon rewards being good at three things. Endurance swimming rewards being deeply good at one. This spoke explores the focus, progress and satisfaction that come from pouring your training into a single discipline and the 33.3km goal.

Going deeper

Depth over breadth

Triathlon rewards being competent across three sports. Endurance swimming rewards being deeply good at one. With every session pointed at the water, technique and endurance progress faster, and the connection to swimming grows in a way that split training rarely allows.

Questions and answers

Common questions

What are the benefits of focusing on one sport?

Faster technical progress, deeper endurance and a clearer goal. Training is simpler to plan and recovery is easier to manage than across three disciplines.

Will I lose fitness from my other sports?

You will specialise, which is the point. Your aerobic base carries over, and swimming becomes your strength rather than one of three.

Is one sport less varied or interesting?

Open water swimming offers huge variety in locations, conditions and distances, so focus does not mean monotony.

How do I build to 33.3km?

Through a structured programme that grows volume and open water skills, with the distance spread across four days at the event.
