ULTIMATE 22.2/33.3

Our inaugural full ULTIMATE 22.2 and ULTIMATE 33.3 options were resounding successes. Despite challenging conditions in the latter stages, Stéphane Guisard set a new 33.3 km non-stop record between Stari Grad and Hvar Town, completing it in 10 hours and 29 minutes. Four out of five ULTIMATE 22.2 participants completed this ultra-marathon challenge, which we plan to repeat at #12Croatia in May 2026.

Stéphane Guisard completes a record 33.3 km swim från Stari Grad to Hvar Town at 10:28:40

On Saturday 17 May 2025, Stéphane Guisard from France was the first person to swim from Stari Grad to Hvar Town on the island of Hvar, Croatia, a total of 33,3 km and the legendary distance of the English Channel crossing. Stéphane Guisard started at shortly after 06.00 this morning in the Stari Grad Harbour and finished at 16:38 in the inner port of Hvar Town 10 hours, 28 minutes and 40 seconds later.

Guisard’s achievement is an established new record and an impressive accomplishment for a legendary distance.

Nothing Great is easy as Captain Webb said [after his historic first crossing of the English Channel in 1875]. The sea in Croatia is fantastic. It’s a pleasure to swim in this water, it’s so beautiful . But the conditions were really difficult today. With northerly winds and 1-1,5 metre waves it was a very tough day out at sea. I was really happy to finish, said Stéphan Guisard after completing the impressive swim.
