James Bainbridge

UK-based James brings more than 40 years of swimming experience and a professional career in the Fire and Rescue Service, combining aquatic knowledge with operational leadership and risk-management expertise.

A former National-level junior swimmer, James has raced internationally at Masters level and is also a swimming teacher and coach. He has spent more than a decade as an Event and Race Director; delivering safe, well-organised open-water events for swimmers of all abilities.

Professionally, James has extensive experience in emergency response, incident command and leading teams in complex, dynamic environments, where situational awareness, decisive decision-making and effective risk management are essential.

This combination of competitive swimming, open-water event management and emergency-services expertise makes James ideally placed to lead the Race Director function for UltraSwim 33.3, helping deliver a challenging, exciting and professionally managed athlete experience, with safety at its core.
