Open water swimming — UltraSwim 33.3

We are delighted to announce the renewal of our partnership with RED equipment. Following a successful collaboration across previous events, RED equipment will continue to support UltraSwim 33.3 for 2026 and 2027 providing practical and technical support to our swimmers. RED equipment truly understands the nature of open water swimming, providing equipment that performs in real conditions.

UltraSwim 33.3 is about pushing limits, and RED equipment allows our swimmers to do so safely with gear that works when it matters most. Their reputation of high quality, technical gear makes them the perfect partner for us. UltraSwim 33.3 and RED equipment share key values which characterise both UltraSwim 33.3 events and RED equipment. We share a love for the ocean and protecting our waterways, RED equipment is impact positive, as are our events. Together, we can push the limits further with the right gear for our swimmers.

The iconic RED changing robe is a no brainer for the UltraSwim 33.3 events, with their waterproof shell and sherpa fleece lining, they keep our swimmers warm when they come out of the water. They are also made from fully repurposed materials, aligning with UltraSwim 33.3 sustainability values.

It’s not just the RED changing robe that is a game changer to our events, the RED XL stand up paddle board is an essential part of our races which we use as a floating feed station. This allows flexibility to our courses as we can get feed stations into any location!

The head of design at RED equipment, Phil Hawthorne, swam with us for #7Croatia. With a background in sprint swimming, not endurance, he was determined to complete an UltraSwim 33.3 proving that with a bit of determination and resilience, we can achieve anything we put our minds to. The RED equipment team is highly involved at UltraSwim 33.3, having had their head of design swim the event, they understand the needs of open water swimmers to a tee.
